TNE Survey - Destination Management Plan

With the assistance of tourism planning consultancy Urban Enterprise, Tourism North East (TNE) is preparing a Destination Management Plan, which aims to establish a shared vision, goals, strategies and actions to guide the growth of Victoria’s High Country visitor economy from 2024-34. You can provide your input into this plan via a short 10 minute survey aimed at understanding industry challenges and barriers faced in Victoria’s High Country, whilst also identifying opportunities for the visitor economy.
Complete the survey before February 24th and be in the running to win a High Country gift pack valued at $200.

Ride High Country Preferred Program

Did you know nearly 4 million Australians ride a bicycle each week and there are currently over 160,000 annual tourism visitors to North East Victoria who cycle? It is no surprise that cycling visitation contributes approximately $131 million in direct expenditure to North East Victoria and this number is predicted to grow!

The only way to ensure you are featured on the Ride High Country website, the region's primary communications platform for all things cycling, is by being a Ride High Country Preferred (RHCP) business - a program for businesses providing exceptional service to cycle visitors. Find out more.
Free ATDW listings untily 30 June 2023

Visit Victoria will re-introduce fees for ATDW business listings from 1 July 2023. Take advantage of free ATDW listings and renew yours now.

You need a coupon code to get a free, 12-month listing from the date the code is redeemed. Find out how to get your coupon code.
Hard waste collection - 11 April 2023

The last hard waste collection date for the summer is Tuesday 11 April 2023 (after Easter weekend 7-10 April).

When leaving hard rubbish out for collection, please don't put it in the garbage hutches - leave it near your property and off the road, ensuring that the rubbish is well contained and doesn't impede visitor access.
Some items can't be left for collection, so please check the Resort Management website before leaving hard rubbish for collection.

Building waste
If you are planning building works please let the RMB know by emailing property@mthotham.com.au. We need to know if you have a skip or trailer on site for building waste removal, even if you are doing Internal works that do not require a permit.

Summer maintenance

It's important that the resort is kept looking great for our summer guests as well as kept bushfire-safe, and we thank all property owners who have been vigilant about their site maintenance.

If you have not yet done summer maintenance, we remind you that you are responsible for cutting the grass on your property and ensuring there are no bushfire risks, such as firewood stored under balconies or building materials left on the site. If you are unable to visit the resort to cut your grass, Resort Management can do this for you at a cost of $105 per hour, which covers all albour and consumables. Please email info@mthotham.com.au to book this work.

Targa Classica is coming to Mt Hotham

Mt Hotham will be hosting the Targa Classica event as it winds its way through the Victorian high country in March. On Tuesday 28 March competitors will arrive for the evening and give mountain guests the opportunity to admire rare and vintage cars that are not often seen on public roads.

Due to the number of participants staying overnight, part of the Corral Car Park will be reserved for Targa Classica participants - more information will be provided to stakeholders closer to the date.
